Job Descriptions

Group Head Counselor

• 21 years of age or older
• Have past experience working with children
• Responsible for the organization and supervision of a group of campers, 2 assistant counselors and one CIT
• For 1st grade group counselor or older group, you must acquire a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) for driving your group to local activities

Group Assistant Counselor

• High school students entering 11th or 12th grade or college students, freshmen through seniors, ages 18 to 21 years old
• Responsible for assisting Head Counselor with daily activities and supervision of group
• Responsible for supervision of campers when on a bus

**special note – if no group positions are available, we hire full-time “at-large” counselors who substitute in different groups every day

Head Specialist Counselor

• Must be 21 years or older
• Responsible for organization of lesson plans, purchase orders, inventory and supervision of Specialist area (e.g. Arts, Athletics, Boating)

Assistant Specialist Counselor

• High school student entering 11th grade or older
• Responsible for assisting Head Counselor with Specialist activities

Lifeguard

• High school student entering 11th grade or older
• Must possess Lifeguard Training (LGT) certification
• Must possess CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
• WSI (Water Safety Instruction) certification
• Nassau County Certification
• First Aid Certification – optional
• Salary increases as lifeguard completes each certification
• Note: Lifeguard must have either WSI or Nassau Certification (additional compensation for having both certifications)

Special Option For College Students Only

• Opportunity to receive up to 4 college credits from your University or College while working at Rolling River Day Camp. This program is through the Gene Ezersky Safety College program in conjunction with Touro College
