Aquatics
The most important program at Rolling River is Aquatics. Learning new swimming skills every year is a crucial aspect to the development of all children. Swimming is a lifetime skill that increases a child’s self-esteem, enhances their cardio-respiratory fitness, as well as enables an individual to be safe around water activities. Whether your child is a hesitant beginner or a confident swimmer, Rolling River offers exceptional Red Cross instruction.
The Aquatics facilities at Rolling River have been designed with camper safety and convenience in mind. Under the watchful eyes of our Aquatics Directors, the Rolling River Pool Complex offers:
- 3 heated pools including a NEW FULLY-ENCLOSED JUNIOR POOL COMPLEX opening for Summer 2011
- The first deep vinyl pool in a Nassau County Day Camp with a constant depth of 4 feet specially designed for teaching beginner and intermediate swimmers
- Poolside changing cabanas for our youngest campers
- Self-contained gated age-specific areas
- Separate entrances for each age group to insure security and safety
- New state-of-the-art filtering system.
Every Rolling River camper swims at least twice per day- Instructional Swim and Free Swim.
